Diversity — Count yourself in!
Be part of a public service that embodies the rich tapestry of Canada’s diversity, encompassing a multitude of identities, cultures, perspectives, and experiences. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every individual is valued and empowered to contribute their unique strengths.
When you embark on your journey with us, you’ll have the opportunity to self-declare aspects of your identity, allowing us to better understand and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our workforce. Through self-declaration, you can indicate if you identify as a woman, or if you are an Aboriginal person, a member of a visible minority, or a person with a disability.
Self-declaration serves as a crucial step in our efforts to ensure equity and representation within our workforce. By openly sharing aspects of your identity, you help us create a more inclusive workplace where every voice is heard and every perspective is respected. Your self-declaration enables us to tailor our recruitment and retention strategies to better support individuals from underrepresented groups, fostering a culture of belonging and empowerment.
It’s important to note that some employment opportunities are exclusively offered to individuals within these designated groups. To be considered for these specialized roles, it is imperative to self-declare during the application process. Your self-declaration not only opens doors to unique career pathways but also contributes to the broader goal of building a public service that reflects the diverse mosaic of Canadian society.
By self-declaring, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our public service, driving positive change and fostering an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Your willingness to share your identity helps us break down barriers, challenge biases, and build a more inclusive society where every individual is valued for who they are.
Moreover, self-declaration is not just a one-time event; it is an ongoing journey of empowerment and advocacy. As you navigate your career within the public service, your continued engagement in self-declaration initiatives helps us track progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted interventions to address systemic barriers.
Through self-declaration, we reaffirm our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion as fundamental pillars of our public service. Together, we strive to create a workplace where every person feels respected, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
In closing, we invite you to embrace the opportunity to self-declare and be part of a transformative movement towards a more inclusive and representative public service. Your voice matters, your identity matters, and together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for all Canadians.
